Longtime friends Ellen and Emily recognized their friendship that started at Garfield High School in the 80s on a botanical token.

Why Supporters are Reserving Botanical Tokens on the Community Wall at Overlook Walk:

"I met Emily freshman year at Garfield High School and we've been close friends ever since. Love her so much. We are both so grateful for our wonderful GHS class of 1987. And, we both LOVE Seattle and LOVE the new Waterfront Park.

A while back, we had talked about our excitement over the upcoming park, so when I saw this opportunity, I decided to commemorate our friendship on it.

Then we went for a walk in the completed park on a gorgeous fall day and I showed her the token. We strolled the park, saw the new art, and rode on the water taxi. Love it all and hope the whole wall gets filled up with support for this wonderful park!" - Ellen S.

Help create a vibrant, accessible Waterfront Park for all!

Friends of Waterfront Park is the nonprofit partner to the City of Seattle, working with the city and Seattle Center to maintain and steward 20 acres of new public space along Seattle's historic shoreline. Your gift helps fund community-centered programming from cultural celebrations to wellness activities, maintenance of park spaces and our unique approach to public safety.

Visit the Community Wall at Overlook Walk, near the future cafe space, to see the first round of tokens installed featuring messages of love, gratitude, and even poetry from our earliest supporters.
