A once-in-a-generation opportunity on Seattle's waterfront

Friends of Waterfront Park is the nonprofit partner to the City of Seattle, working to maintain, steward, and activate 20 acres of new public space along Seattle's historic shoreline.

We also partner with Seattle Center on a unique approach to public safety, working to create a safe space where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

Community-Driven Public Programming

Since the first part of Waterfront Park opened in 2020, Friends has partnered with community leaders and organizations to put on hundreds of free events, and we've developed a Cultural Master Plan alongside our community partners to ensure programming reflects the full breadth and diversity of our region.

Connection to Nature, Clean & Safe Spaces

Thousands of new plants and trees, including many native to our region, will provide cover and green spaces throughout all 20 acres of the park. Friends partners with Seattle Center on park maintenance and public safety, centered on creating a safe and welcoming environment for all to enjoy year-round.

Enjoying & Celebrating Public Art

Stretching from Belltown to Pioneer Square, both permanent and temporary art installations are integrated into different areas of the park. Statues, fountains, pop-up exhibitions and even seating areas designed by local artists enhance the ambiance of the park and create spaces for inspiration and reflection on the role art plays in remembering our past, celebrating the present and looking to the future.

Community Wall and Botanical Tokens Opportunity

Support the Campaign for Waterfront Park with a gift of $1,200 (or $100/month) and you will receive a spot on our Community Wall at Overlook Walk, featuring your custom text on a botanical token.

Token shapes will be randomly assigned, creating a tapestry of different botanical elements that celebrate the natural beauty of our region and honoring the connection between the city, the water, the mountains and our connections to one another.

You can also gift a botanical token! When filling out the form, you can designate an honoree and send them an e-card to let them know you've made a gift in their honor.
